Pay Per Click Management – PPC Management – Google Adwords Management

Search engine traffic is considered to be the best unique traffic your website can receive. This type of traffic is unique in the following ways: search engine traffic originates from a voluntary, audience-driven search, and search engine traffic results from a fixed inventory of searches. Therefore, traffic generated by search is a non-intrusive method of Internet marketing.

Search engine traffic creates the online business and web traffic you want. You can watch your website climb in the search engine rankings through many popular website tracking software. Traffic from search engines is the best free way to position your business to target ideal sales leads and customers.

Traffic from search engines is more targeted and receptive to your products and services provided you have done your job with keyword choice and optimization strategies. You can target a general high traffic keyword you have little chance of ranking well for and get barely any traffic. Or you can shoot for a keyword that gets a moderate level of targeted traffic resulting in more subscribers and sales.

Search engine traffic can be inexpensive and free through natural rankings (keyword optimization) linking to other sites, URL submission or through the use of articles. Your traffic can be naturally monetized with strategies like Google Adsense or Yahoo Publishing Network. Link brokering, PPC and traditional advertising are paid ways to increase your search traffic but free ways are better. Using paid or free strategies will help you increase search traffic.

A note on URL submissions, many webmasters find it beneficial to do this manually rather than using a service because you can be indexed faster and they know who they are linking to. However, submitting your site consistently and properly will drive traffic to you.

Since search engines also read text links, it is good practice to place text links to all of your most important pages. Place your URL at the bottom of every page, forum comment or blog comment you make. That is another important reason why you should place keywords in your URL or domain name and it is free.

There is actually an entire consulting industry based on tweaking Web pages to get any URL to the top of search-engine results in the hope of capturing more traffic. However, your initial cost to optimize your web site for the search engines can be higher than the cost of a short-term PPC campaign. You are strengthening your web site for improved performance for the long-term: in effect you will own the source of traffic that you are building, because it is drawn to your site as a direct result of your content.

Remember, search engines want a frequently updated web site or page with good information, and that also has a solid, navigable directory structure with meaningful URLs. That is why blogs are loved by the search engines.

seo Company – Internet Marketing – Search Engine Optimization

Formally known as Overture, Yahoo was the original Pay for Performance (P4P)/ Pay Per Click (PPC) search engine. Cleverly, Overture had the insight to look way ahead of everyone else and saw that the internet would one day become the most convenient method to shop. Because of this they realized that online advertising was going to hit an all time peak because of this.

Visibility is everything when it comes to getting visitors to a website. Providing ads that could direct potential consumers and costumers to their site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales. Yahoo provides a service that can put a site or company’s ad in their sites that can be shown when certain keywords are inputted.

Yahoo allows any company the chance to increase their traffic through the use of their services. Obviously, the more people being aware of your site, there would be an increase in traffic and visitors to it. With even a small percentage of successful sales, any site that receives a high traffic volume this could still be a substantial figure for your company.

The goal of every company who own a website is to create a consistent and sustainable flow of visitors. There are a high number of methods used to ensure that there would be more people to boost the sales and to be aware of the existence of such a product or service. Website visitors are potentially the life blood of your internet based business.

Yahoo/Overture utilizes the same principle as Google’s AdWords. They are in fact, very similar to each other in that they use keyword and keyword phrase searches and to determine which ads to show for each particular search. When a person types in a keyword or keyword phrase for their search, the search engines gives out the results in a page known as search results with each page showing 10 results per page or 20 results in the case of Yahoo. On the right hand side of each results page are a number of ads which have been for to be displayed.

Although the owners of these ads are paying a fee to have their ads listed, the ads appear based on the search term that was originally entered.

For example, let’s say you run a car parts retail/wholesale site. You choose keywords targeted to your business and or products which would then prompt or trigger your ads to be shown in the search results page when a keyword is searched for. When a search engine user types in Ford Mustang your ad may come up if you have chosen that as one of your keywords.

Using this paid for option, to be included on search engine results, means that you do not have to spend time or money on optimizing your website to be found in the natural search results.

While some companies and website owners work hard to optimize their site to be one of the high ranking sites in the natural search results, you simply bid on specific keywords to be found on the first page of the search results. Because of this you can drive traffic to your website much faster.

With so many competing websites and businesses on the internet these days, it is necessary to take a giant leap forward from the pack when it comes to advertising. Yahoo/Overture is a great place to start. Many businesses have used their services and have reaped the rewards of this decision. It’s a marketing strategy that will increase your website visitors as well as increase your sales resulting to profit.

It takes money to make money, while there are some methods that are basically low cost or free, using a marketing service such as what Yahoo/Overture offers will provide results faster and on a larger scale. Many businesses have learned this the hard way, don’t be counted with them.

Starting a business is usually an expensive proposition. But with an online “affiliate program” you can at least eliminate most of the setup expenses.

Affiliate programs are online networks where merchants — such as Ebay, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kmart, and thousands of equally popular and many lesser known companies — sign up to allow website owners (publishers) to sell their goods and services on a commission basis. Signing up with a legitimate affiliate network is free and you never have to pay them a dime — they pay you, if you sell.

With an affiliate program you never have to stock inventory or fill orders; the merchant does all that. All you have to do is attract customers. This may be the most difficult part of any business, but at least you eliminate many of the other headaches associated with running a business.

The commissions you’ll receive in an affiliate program will probably be less than the markup you’d make in your own business, but that’s the price you pay for reduced headaches. (Tylenol is even better; but no one makes money taking Tylenol.)

You will need a website to sell for an affiliate program. And you will probably have to modify it often. So, unless you’re already doing very well with it, it’s probably not a good idea to hire an expensive consultant to set up and regularly modify your website. You can do it yourself with some user friendly software (like Frontpage) or a website hosting account that comes with a website builder.

While some affiliate networks will accept your signup instantly, others will scrutinize your website to see whether it meets whatever their requirements are: for example, how much traffic (visitors) it gets, the demographics of the traffic, what industry you cater to, and so on. Once you sign up, you (often, but not always) have to apply to each merchant individually.

A few affiliate programs that come to mind are cj.com (Commission Junction), performics.com and clickbank.com. You can find many more by googling “top affiliate programs.”

Some merchants, like Amazon.com (affiliate-program.amazon.com), run their own affiliate programs, so you don’t have to join a network.

Besides commissions and fixed amounts per sale, some merchants will pay for other “actions,” such as “leads” and “clicks.” A lead is when a visitor signs up for something (usually free) or request some info. A click is when a visitor simply clicks on the merchant’s banner or link that you’ve put up on your website. (You get these banners and links from your affiliate program account.)

The amount of compensation, which is specified up front, varies from merchant to merchant, even for the same products and services. It’s important to keep in mind that merchants that pay per click or per lead usually have anti-fraud software to catch website owners who enter fraudulent clicks or leads; so cheating is never a good idea.

Generating traffic and getting good “conversion” (visitors turning into sales) are vast topics in their own rights and beyond the scope of this article. An ideal situation, however, would be if you already own a domain name (perhaps from a company that’s no longer in business) that already gets traffic, and it converts into considerable sales. Otherwise, advertising campaigns, perhaps through PPC (Pay Per Click) ads on google.com and/or yahoo.com, to generate traffic is one way to go.

Obviously, affiliate programs are not magic-bullet businesses where you set up a website, and a year later you’re flying around on private jets. Developing a business out of an affiliate program probably requires the same business savvy as that of a “brick and mortar” (real, physical) store; it simply involves a few less headaches.

One beauty of affiliate programs is that you can try several products, services, lines or approaches before hitting one that gives you a good ROI in less time and expense than one “brick and mortar” business; and you never get stuck with a lease or inventory. Website hosting is so cheap these days, a one-year commitment (which you seldom have to sign up for; monthly payments are usually available) can cost you less than taking a family of four to the movies. And a domain name averages only about ten dollars a year.

If you have your own goods to sell, you might want to join these same affiliate programs as an “advertiser” and perhaps get others to sell your products for you.

Simple Pay Per Click / Cost Per Click Strategy

In a Nutshell, Pay Per Click or PPC is a search engine marketing technique which is used by search engines and advertising networks to generate clicks. In this, advertiser uses potential key phrases and bid for their position in the sponsored links section to generate leads to their website. The major service providers in the area are Google Ad words, Yahoo – Overture program, MSN Ad center. Apart from these BIG 3, there are many smaller programs which comprises the PPC universe. Setting up PPC sounds simple, but it requires certain practices and constant monitoring as improper biddings can make an advertiser bankrupt overnight.

Below are the simple strategies, which can make your PPC campaign more result oriented.

·          Keywords research: Always do good keywords research and come up with as many keywords / key phrases as possible, related to your product / Service. Come up with more and more secondary keywords which are relevant to the service / product offered by you. A secondary keyword may not have good search volumes but can certainly improve your conversion rates.

·          Create proper landing page: A landing page is the page on a website where the traffic generated through PPC program lands. Always make good. Attractive landing pages. A home page can not be a landing page as it is the identity of your website. Home page is used to present corporate identity, its more on “Who you are” whereas a landing page should focus on “what service / product you offer” and “why customer should buy from you”.

·          Write Relevant Ad Copy: The ad copy should clearly mention the product / service on offer for a particular campaign and the pricing for it. Any deviation from this will make you lose the space. An ad copy with pricing catches attraction of the visitor, thus making CTR (Click Through Ratio) value high.

·          Conversions: Incorporate conversion tracking code. Without this, you will not be able to know the exact ROI (Return On Investments). One must measure the leads coming through PPC programs, this helps in utilizing the budget effectively.

·          Bidding: Test the ROI (Return On Investments), conversion for various places in the sponsored link category by varying the bids for 2-3 weeks. This will give you the optimal position where you can safely bid and get desired CPA (Cost per acquisition) and can stick to your allocated monthly budget without much hassle. One you do this, you will understand that bidding for top positions is not good always.

·          Check competition: Look at the ad copy used by your competitors, analyze them and if required, make changes in your ad copy. Use promotional “HOOKS” (offers) to increase CTR (Click Through Ratio).

·          Branding: Do not let your affiliate to use your brand name for making their ad copy. This may affect your branding.

·          Monitoring: Constantly monitor your campaigns, there is nothing like AUTO PILOT in PPC campaigns. The competition is cut throat and you will need to adjust your bid in order to optimize your ROI (Return On Investments).

·          REALISTIC expectations: Have realistic expectations with your campaigns. You can not increase your business 10 folds overnight using PPC campaigns. It’s a market where you are selling goods and services. You can get the leads but if your website is not up to the mark or your pricing does not suit visitor, you will not get final CONVERSION. So ideally first step before setting up PPC programs is to do proper home work. Make your website up to the mark, create good landing pages, provide information in great detail so that the visitors get a complete idea about your services, products, pricing etc.

·          Last but not least, do monthly tweaking in bids, ad copy, remove non performing ads from your campaigns. This is life weeding, removing unnecessary items from your campaigns.

In order to submit your blog to Yahoo all you have to do is go to Yahoo’s site submission page and click the ’submit your site for free’ link. For more in depth submission process check out the resource box below.

2. Another great method that I have found that gets spiders quickly come to my new blog is to create 5 posts and pre-date them for the period of 1 month going back.

Let me show you how easy this is.

If you have a new blog you can predate your posts.

To predate your posts remove all pinging services located in the ‘options’ writing category in your WordPress admin area.

In each post use your blog’s main keyword in the title and the body of the post. Also add the main keyword separately on the line on the bottom of each post.

If your blog is new write first post and edit the timestamp back but not longer than one month. If your blog is on the domain that you have had for awhile you can predate posts for longer than a month.

The last post you make have it dated for today and before you make a post put all the pinging services to be contacted. Then publish your new post.

That’s all it is to it. This method allows you to notify pinging services that your blog has been updated and already has content created on it.

3. Submit your blog to blog directories

Blog directories organize and categorize the thousands of blogs listed in its database so readers can find your blog more easily.

Blog directories are generally free to add your blog to. Some blog directories require you to insert a small banner on your blog.

To get listed in a blog directories, visit them and submit your blog, accurately describing your blog. Make sure that you have an appealing benefit-oriented description about your blog that will entice visitors to come and read your blog and you make money with your blog as the result.

Check blog directories requirements for banners and be sure to add the link they generate for you – this will ensure you get credit if another blogger joins from your page.

Here’re a few of the more popular blog directories:
– Blogarama – Blogwise – Blog Catalog – GetBlogs – Globe of Blogs – LS Blogs

4. Next step you need to take in order to jump start your blog and start making money with your blog is to submit your blog to free web directories.

Web directory is a directory on the Internet. It contains links of multiple category websites, which makes searching more efficient and effective to its visitors looking for specific websites.

Also submitting your blog to web directories is a great way to get links to your blog for free. Top web directories have PR ranks of 5 and higher and your blog benefits greatly from having a link to your site from such a high PR ranked site.

To submit to web directories all you have to do is visit the web directory website, choose the category best described your blog and click the add a site link. Follow the instructions of the page. Web directories have various instructions for submitting the site so make sure you read them before hand.

Here’s the list of the top 7 web directories with high PRs.
– DMOZ – Librarian’s Internet Index (LII) – ExactSeek – SoMuch – AbiLogic – Pedster’s Planet – The seo King – MPS – Most Popular Sites – LinkCentre – Jayde

5. And the last but not least way to jump start your blog and start making money with your blog is to advertise your blog on Pay-Per-Click search engines.

Using PPC Advertising method is a really fast way to get traffic to your. You pay PPC search engines to list your blog in the paid listings section on their page and pages of their network partners.

Here’re some of the benefits of using paid listing for your blog:
– Paid listings allow your ads for your blog to appear instantly on the search engine result page. (When using Google Adwords program your ad will show up sometimes 20 minutes later after you submitted your listing to them for approval. Overture, MSN, Miva and others take anywhere between 2 to 10 days to get approved and showed on their search engine pages.
– Paid listings place your ad in prominent areas on the search engine page giving your ad a great exposure to potential prospects.
– Paid listings allow you to choose the keywords under which you want your ad to to show.
– Paid listings let you control how much you Pay Per Click to your blog. (Word of caution here. Keep a close eye on the numbers when you just set up a campaign and make sure that your blog starts making money with traffic that you receive from paid listings otherwise you’ll be losing money pretty quick).

Here’s the list of the most popular and mostly used PPC programs. – Google – Yahoo (formerly Overture) – MSN Ad Center – GoClick – Miva – 7Search – Kanoodle – Mamma

Ok, that’s all for this article. I hope you learned something new and useful for you to start making some money with your blog.

There are many Search Engines and Directories, but only a few major ones will bring you most traffic. In this article I will describe how to submit your site to Yahoo, Google and Open Directory

1.) Directories And Indexes

First, I would like to describe a difference between Directory and Index. Directory is a collection of links divided by subjects just like Yahoo Directory at dir.yahoo.com. Let’s say you are interested in Finance. Go to Business & Economy section and press Finance. You will find variety of topics listed under Finance.

Index is the number of sites available for search. For example, you go to Yahoo.com and enter “Napoleon” in search box. Results will show a number of sites related to Napoleon in Yahoo Index. The same is true for any other search term. There are millions of sites in listed in major Indexes.

2.) How To Submit Your Site To Yahoo Directory

Listing with Yahoo Directory will provide several benefits for your site. First of all, you will get some traffic from Yahoo Directory. However, number of visitors will depend on category where your site is listed. There are some highly competitive categories that may not generate much traffic. Also some search indexes are more likely to include your site if you are listed with Yahoo Directory or Open Directory Project which is discussed later in this article.

You must decide what category your page will be listed under before before submitting it to Yahoo Directory. Usually there is more than one category appropriate for your site. You have to decide which one works best for you based on several factors: relevance, number of competing sites under the category. For example my site www.yourcareerlinks.com is listed under Business & Economy – Employment And Work – Careers And Jobs – Jobs – Directories.

In order to suggest your site to Yahoo Directory, select your category and click Suggest A Site link located below upper right corner. If your category is commercial, you can list your site only through Express submission.

Express submission costs $299. Yahoo editors check your site within 7 days. Please read Yahoo instructions carefully. Your payment of $299 doesn’t guarantee automatic inclusion. If they approve it, your site will be listed in Yahoo Directory and you will pay $299 annually to maintain it in the directory.

Yahoo Standard Submission is free for non-commercial sites. Yahoo doesn’t state when your site will be reviewed with free submission. If you have time to wait, you may try this option.

3.) How To Submit Your Site To Yahoo Index

When you go to http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html, first option is to submit your site for free to Yahoo Search Index. Before you do that, your site must be optimized for Search Engine inclusion with appropriate titles and meta tags. Below you will see what title and meta tags look for this page:

Web Marketing, How To Submit Your Site To Search Engines

Title describes your page in a few words. META name=”DESCRIPTION” is a short outline of what your web page is about. META name=”KEYWORDS” includes keywords relevant to the page. Each page of your site may have different Title and Meta Tags

The purpose of relevant titles and Meta Tags is to help web surfers to identify sites they are looking for through descriptions and keywords. However, it is quiet hard to get top Search Engine placement ( whch is to get listed among first 20- 30 results ) these days. There are many competitors, rules and criterias are constantly changing and it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain high ranking in the Index.

Chances are that your site is not going to be listed high with Indexes. Therefore, my recommendation is to use free submission options to Yahoo Search Index or any other Search Index for that matter unless you are an expert in Search Engine optimization and ranking. You don’t want to pay to get ranked number 256 or whatever.

4.) How To Submit Your Site To Google

Google is another major Search Engine. They offer two opportunities to market your site. You can submit the site to Google Index for free here. As I stated before, you probably are not going to get high ranking, but you might get some clicks from Google if your site will be listed.

Another option to advertise with Google is through Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Program called Google Adwords. You can read in my article about Pay-Per-Click marketing here.

5.) Open Directory Project

Open Directory Project is directory of web sites managed by volunteer editors. Inclusion is free, but it has to be approved by editor. There is no time frame as to when your site will be reviewed. If your site is not listed within a few months after you applied, you can submit it again. Open Directory is located at www.dmoz.org. You should find appropriate category for your site and submit it.

There are other Search Engines out there. Many are based on Yahoo or Google Search. For example, Alta Vista (www.altavista.com ) is now based on Yahoo Search index. Therefore, if your site is listed with Yahoo Search Index, it is probably listed in Alta Vista as well. Some offer paid inclusion in their Index such as Excite while others like Lycos offer Pay Per Click options

In my opinion, the best way to bring traffic to your site is to list it with Yahoo, Google and Open Directory Project. In addition, one should use Pay Per Click marketing which is explained in my PPC Marketing Article at http://www.webhostchecklist.com/payperclick.html .

Funny video websites are easy to make, and you can profit from them handsomely. There are many people out there that have done this and are making a full living from these sites.

1.      Getting a site

The first thing you have to do is go to Go Daddy or some other domain name source and research a good name. Try to think up some names that sound like fun and are easy to remember, and highly unique. A unique, funny, memorable name  is important in getting the traffic you need as well as maintaining that traffic.

2.  Get the videos you need

It is easy to obtain videos off of popular video sites. There are also some sites that will allow you an access to many different popular funny videos. A lot of sites have a sharing agreement with each other and share videos among themselves. Therefore, obtaining the funny, popular videos you are looking for and need is relatively easy.

3.How to make money from them

Making money from your video sites will result from the use of several different income streams. Banner advertising, PPC, and actual  products that you can be selling on your website that will pay you big commissions.

Open accounts at Google and Yahoo for ppc ads and discover products that are related to the nature of the videos you will be showing. Many Internet products will have programs for webmasters that allow you to start promoting products on your site as soon as you sign up for them. Once your website starts to produce traffic, you can try to use banner ads for larger businesses that can increase your income considerably. The combination of different, various income streams will continue to produce a steady income stream for you as your traffic increases.

3. Making the money.

Making money off your site is going to consist of different forms of income streams. They can come from click on ads, banner advertising, and actual products that you can sell on your site and receive heavy commissions from.

Over the years, the industry of internet marketing has developed to the point where incorporating an online marketing plan is absolutely essential for any company wanting to succeed in the future. Search engien marketing and search engine optimization are the most popular forms of internet marketing as they can drive lots of targeted traffic to your website. Down below is a list of some of the most important lessons about the strengths and weaknesses of search as a medium:

- Search should not be thought of as a stand alone marketing medium
- PPC (Paid Search) is better for accomplishing some goals than SEO is
- SEO is better for accomplishing some goals than PPC is
- Content is KING
- Content is KING (did we say that already?)

Perhaps one of the most powerful of these lessons however, is that as powerful as search is, it CANNOT compensate for a faulty business model.

Faulty Business Model

Sure, in the short term a good SEO can help. Those rankings will often bring in some business through targeted traffic from the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Unfortunately, those same good rankings can also help to conceal problems within the business model.

What is a Good Business Model?

What does a good business model consist of? It’s usually a direct function of the relative value:price ratio for a product or service amongst competitors, sprinkled with a whole lot of common sense.

However, if anything is amiss – the company is doomed for failure, expert SEO or not.

Why Are Companies with Faulty Business Models Doomed?

Companies with faulty business models are doomed for a number of reasons. Primarily however, they’re doomed because search engines want to recommend sites that SATISFY searcher’s needs. Almost by definition, companies with faulty business models cannot satisfy clients and searchers, because either:

- Their price is too high given the value of the product or service
- Their value is too low given the price of the product or service
- Common sense is lacking, severely distorting the value:price ratio – and we suspect this is by far the most common

Long term (in a few more years – not yet though) this means search engines will look at your friend’s preferences and opinions (aka social search), and the behaviour patterns of thousands of other searchers, and will rearrange rankings based on those indicators. The result – faulty business models lose.

What Does This Mean for SEO’s and the Industry of Internet Marketing?

As a result, SEO and internet marketing companies in the future will have to make some interesting business decisions:

- do we accept or retain clients with faulty business models?
- how do we identify clients with faulty business models – what are the signals?
- do we attempt to become management/change consultants too?

What Does This Mean for Businesses?

Ultimately, this means that companies must focus their time and efforts on what it is they do best. They need to ensure they’ve got solid defensible business models. The more sound the business model, the easier it will be to rank for relevant terms. If not, make the tough decisions, and correct the issues, or Google will!
